1. The Terrifier

IMDB Rating | Rotten Tomatoes | How to Watch |
5.6 | 66/100 | Access US Netflix with NORD VPN 30 Day Trial |
The Terrifier is somewhere between Saw and Pyscho with a Clown thrown to make this a Clown horror movie. The Plot is simple (maybe too simple) a couple of drunk girls out a night acting silly when it takes a turn for the worse and they are kidnapped by a psychotic killer dressed as a clown. It is a low budget movie but no quite b-movie budget, but somewhere in between. There is no back story, clever plot or twist but is purely for entertainment of horror gore fans.
2. Would You Rather

IMDB Rating | Rotten Tomatoes | How to Watch |
5.7 | 65/100 | Netflix |
Would You Rather is a nasty little physiological type horror where guests are invited to a dinner party and forced to play a game of would you rather. However they must act out there choices which involves doing unspeakable acts to themselves or others. The whole film is set in a single room and uses emotion and intrigue to entertain the audience. Similar to other movies such as The Platform, The Circle or even a cross between a classic such as 12 Angry Men and SAW. I watched this movie late one night and if you are on your own or with some like minded friends I would definitely recommend. However, I would not recommend watching with your wife or any other family members, even on Halloween, its just not that sort of movie. Kind of like the first time you watch the Human Centipede Hostel.
3. The Funhouse Massacre

IMDB Rating | Rotten Tomatoes | How to Watch |
5.2 | 58/100 | Access UK Netflix with NORD VPN 30 Day Trial |
Funhouse massacre crosses many sub genre with plenty of torturing involved throughout. A great plot where a group of the world’s most dangerous psychotic killers escape and choose to reign terror at a carnival within the Funhouse. Its not a supernatural horror but it plenty of fun to watch. It is fun in the same way as The Purge, not at all scary but just lots of gore, killing, bad acting (in a good way that lots of horror fans love) and a great night of entertainment.
4. Lessons of The Evil

IMDB | Rotten Tomatoes | How To Watch |
6.6 | 52 | Access Japanese Netflix with NORD VPN 30 Day Trial |
Lessons of The Evil is another crazy, fun, ridiculous bit of gory entertainment to good to miss, not a supernatural horror and not made to be scary but very a very good horror. A popular high school teacher goes nuts as he creates a plan to deal with bullies and bad behaviour, the plan is to basically kill and brutally torcher the students. Another movie clearly inspired by the popular Battle Royale.
5. Saw The Final Capter (3D)

IMDB | Rotten Tomatoes | How To Watch |
5.6 | 59 | Access UK Netflix with NORD VPN 30 Day Trial |
Saw needs little introduction and this is the 3D Final Chapter movie. Although not the latest Saw movie it did finish off the first round of Saw movies. Obviously not as good as the original, they never were after that. However, if you are looking for Gore and perhaps some conclusion to this series then… a group of Jigsaw survivors gathers to seek the support of self-help guru and fellow survivor Bobby Dagen, a man whose own dark secrets unleash a new wave of terror. Some loved the conclusion others felt it was rushed. Personally I think many SAW fans only like the movie as it was a pioneering movie in a new sub genre of gore and creative torcher, and if that’s why you enjoy these movies then yes this is worth a watch. If you seem to think there is a deeper meaning to the movies and is a form of literary art then no you will not like this concluding movie.
6. SAW VI

IMDB | Rotten Tomatoes | How To Watch |
6 | 66 | Access UK Netflix with NORD VPN 30 Day Trial or a 7 day free trial on Cinemax |
Special Agent Strahm is dead, and Detective Hoffman has emerged as the unchallenged successor to Jigsaw’s legacy. However, when the FBI draws closer to Hoffman, he is forced to set a game into motion, and Jigsaw’s grand scheme is finally understood. Also available on the UK NEtflix if SAW 6, perhaps marginally better than the 3D movie, but I stand by what i said about how fans only like the movie as it was a pioneering movie in a new sub genre of gore and creative torcher, and if that’s why you enjoy these movies then yes this is worth a watch. If you seem to think there is a deeper meaning to the movies and is a form of literary art then no you will not like this concluding movie.
