ESPN Plus is so much more than the ESPN sport channels owned by Wal Disney. With the Channels they can only show a small a couple of sports through your TV provider, but on the apps, it advertises that it has thousands of sport events ready for you to stream. It goes beyond just Sporting events but includes Documentaries.

Being part of the Disney club and a well establish service it is available on many devices and stores…

  • Android (phones, TV, tablets)
  • Roku
  • Samsung Smart TV
  • Google Chromecast
  • Playstation 4
  • Xbox One
  • Oculus (Oculus Go virtual reality)

What is the best device for ESPN Plus?

I would recommend a Roku or Fire TV with 4k capability. These devices are more cost effective than Apple and provide you with whatever quality ESPN can offer (up to 4k).

However, if you already have a Samsung smart TV then use the app as your TV will provide the best quality it can deliver with ESPN, so any other device is a waste of Money.

Then as an honourable mention the Oculus is worth a try if you have money to waste and wish to impress friends. VR has come a long way and I have on of these myself, I am very impressed, but it is only for showing off as you will quickly get bored.

ESPN Plus Review

ESPN Plus is impressive simply because it has the power of Walt Disney behind it. They have rights to a selection of NFL, NBA and soccer games as well as offering many sport related documentaries. The service allows you to watch anything within the last 30 days.

If I was to do a cost analysis of the service, then it performs well. Other services such as NFL Games Pass or NBA league Pass charge much more for the same level or even less things to watch in sports entertainment. It is not all roses though, you are stuck with whatever they can offer rather than being able to watch every game of your team like the league and NFL passes can do.
